Menstrual  Pain

/ Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea, also known as painful periods or menstrual cramps, is pain during menstruation. Its usual onset occurs around the time that menstruation begins.Symptoms typically last less than three days. The pain is usually in the pelvis or lower abdomen. Other symptoms may include back pain, diarrhea or nausea.

In young women, painful periods often occur without an underlying problem. In older women, it is more often due to an underlying issues such as uterine fibroidsadenomyosis or endometriosis.[3] It is more common among those with heavy periods, irregular periods, whose periods started before twelve years of age or who have a low body weight. A pelvic exam in those who are sexually active and ultrasound may be useful to help in diagnosis. Conditions that should be ruled out include ectopic pregnancypelvic inflammatory diseaseinterstitial cystitis and chronic pelvic pain.

Cramps in the lower abdomen.
Dysmenorrhea is notorious for its intolerable cramping pain in the lower abdomen. Sine
Dolore’s device allows to relief this type of pain by affecting the nerves that transmit pain
signals from the abdomen to the brain. The pain relief device reaches the nerves with heat /
light / electromagnetic field / mechanical stimulus and makes the nerve «busy». The non-
painful input closes the nerve "gates" to painful input, which prevents pain sensation
(phenomena known as «gate control theory»).

Backpain.
Backpain during menstruation is caused by contractions in the uterus, which radiate through
the web of nerves within pelvic region. Moreover, as the body contracts to rid itself of the
uterine lining, it can sometimes press on blood vessels in the area, limiting or cutting off the
supply of oxygen to the nearby muscles. The pain relief mechanism applied for this type of
pain is similar to the one applied for abdomen cramps: Sine Dolore’s pain relief device
blocks pain transmittance to the central neural system by with a non-painful input signal.

Headache.

Menstrual migraines are triggered by the change of hormone levels (estrogen
and progesterone) in the body during menstruation. Therapy with Sine Dolore helps to relief
this type of pain by several mechanisms: the electromagnetic fields generated by the device
enhance vascular tonicity and velocity, stimulate ATP, mitochondrial enzymes synthesis
as well as the anti-inflammatory process. They also increase the rate of synthesis
(turnover) of dopamine and serotonin, which results in pain relief.
